Vermont Comedy Club
Most comedy clubs are owned by scary 60 year old men who don’t know anything about comedy. This place is owned by a funny 30-something couple who performed comedy for a decade before they opened a club. It shows. Also, Vermont comedy club has an experimental comedy room that, among other things, has a talk show where the host interviews live dogs.

Tina Friml
Tina Friml is a stand-up. She’s hysterical, delightful, and she has cerebral pulsy. When we interviewed her, she said something we loved: “if I can address the elephant in the room and get people to see that I’m normal, then I can finally dive into other stuff and reveal that I’m a psycho.” We can attest to that fact. She’s a psycho. The best kind.

Take it Back
In the early 2000s, there was a political movement called “Take Back Vermont.” The movement started as a civilized protest against same-sex civil unions in Vermont, but it soon took on undertones of outright homophobia. Comedian Hillary Boone has this great story about how her mom dreamed up a guerrilla campaign to fight the movement. She told the story at a Moth Storytelling event in Burlington. Listen here.
